Many people like to think themselves as discerning shoppers who try and avoid making disateroues decisiones by first researching a product on the Internet and then either buying it online at an exceptionally low price or buying it at a local store to avoid postal charges. However, while they are doing their curiosity is aroused by something else that looks interesting.
Before they know it, they have given into temptation and bought something else, whether or not they need it. It's like when we are on a restricted budget and go into a clothes shop to buy a pair of jeans and end up buying a lot of other clothes to match. Or when we go to the sales looking for bargains, hoping to make substancious savings, and then buy a lot of other things we had never thought of and will never ever use.
We may be decisive shoppers but all of us are still capable of making characteristic silly decisions on occasions. Of course, retailers know this. They know that most people are open to persuation and try and entice them with a range of 'discounts' and introductory offers to ensure that they not only choose to buy what they want to buy a lot of unnecessary 'extras' at the same time.
Opinion:
What are some consecuences of the aforementioned situation? (Of course there are many others, but I believe these are strongly connected)
